Legacy Bible Church will be a worshiping church, a welcoming church, a biblical church, a caring church, a salvation church and a mission church.
Legacy Bible Church will be a worshiping church. Weekly services will be designed as a special appointment for the congregation to gather together to worship the Creator of the universe. We will strive to do everything possible so that everyone can participate in congregational singing with heart, mind, and voice. We will form ensembles large and small, choral and instrumental, to sing and play for God’s glory and also use outstanding solo talent in worship. Psalms 33:3, 100:1-5
Legacy Bible Church will be a welcoming church. All ages, all races, and all socio-economic classes are welcome. All who are in agreement with our statement of faith and our mission will be our brothers and sisters in Christ. James 2:1-4
Legacy Bible Church will be a biblical church. We will not preach about the Word or from the Word, but we will preach the Word of God: systemically, in context, and in depth because nothing is more relevant to the issues of all ages than the inspired, authoritative Word of God. II Timothy 3:16-17, 4:2
Legacy Bible Church will be a caring church. We will care for and minister to one another in times of joy and sorrow, and we will love one another in Christ. Romans 12:15, Galatians 6:2
Legacy Bible Church will be a salvation church. We will teach and preach the Gospel unapologetically: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, and that he was raised the third day according to the Scriptures. We will not change, add to, or subtract from the fundamental truth that all have sinned, that the wages of sin is death, and that the free gift of eternal life is offered to all who will repent and receive Christ as Lord and Savior. I Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 3:23, 6:23
Legacy Bible Church will be a mission church. We will remember that the Great Commission is to make disciples of all nations, and we will be involved in reaching people for Christ locally and around the world, and we will be part of the process of presenting every person mature in Christ. Matthew 28:18-20, Colossians 1:28
Legacy Bible Church was founded on the basis of the Great Commission given by Jesus to His followers in Matthew 28 following His resurrection. Specifically, that commission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ, teaching them to observe all that Jesus commanded. We believe the two essential elements for making disciples are in-depth preaching of the Bible and mature worship of the one true God as revealed in Holy Scripture. Recognizing the importance and necessity of maintaining a collection of congregational songs that are inherited from previous generations and passed on to future generations, this church is chartered and established to primarily use historic Christian hymns and Gospel songs in congregational singing, while also being open to new congregational songs that we believe are textually and musically strong enough to endure for many years and are worthy of being passed on to the next generation of worshipers.
We believe the Bible—the 66 books of the Old and New Testament—to be the inspired, the only infallible authoritative Word of God, without error in their autograph versions. We believe that the Bible is the complete revelation of God’s will for salvation, and the ultimate authority by which every realm of human knowledge and endeavor should be judged. The Bible is therefore the final authority for matters of faith and practice in the Church.
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, holy, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in a loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe that God created Adam and Eve in His image, but they sinned when tempted by Satan. As all human beings are descendants of Adam, all are sinners by nature and by choice, alienated from God, and under His wrath. Only through God’s saving work in Jesus Christ can we be rescued, reconciled, and renewed.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Trinity, in His virgin birth, and in His sinless life. We believe that in His incarnate form He was fully God and fully man—the God/Man. We believe that Jesus Christ, as our representative and substitute, shed His blood on the cross as the perfect, necessary, and sufficient sacrifice for our sins, that He bodily rose from the dead to conquer death, and that He ascended to heaven. His atoning death and resurrection constitute the only hope of salvation.
We believe in the personal, bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ at a time known only to God. We believe in the final judgment of all people: those who do not know Christ will be condemned to eternal separation from God, and those who do know Christ will enjoy the glory of God with Christ in His kingdom forever.
We believe that God desires all men and women to be saved from sin, and that the free gift of salvation is offered to anyone who will accept it by faith. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. In order for regeneration to occur, there must be a deliberate personal decision to accept Christ as Savior and Lord on the part of the individual.
We believe that a wedding is a Christian service of worship to celebrate the union in marriage of one man and one woman before God and witnesses. We believe that both the man and woman must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in order to enter into a biblical marriage.
